New to me 2009 RL

Back in the RL fam. Previously owned 2006 RL, 180k miles. Traded for CLK350 cab for the wife and took over her GLX470. Hated driving that high. Traded for Infiniti M35x. Loved the interior and torque. Hated the mechanics. Loud, thrashy, and unrefined.....full circle back to a beautiful silver 09 RL with the black maple and tech package. Its not been a week yet but cant believe the difference from the 3.7L engine, silky smooth delivery with better tip in off the line (compared to 06 RL).
Day 3, deep tint (5% all around) boom!!!!! Day 4, ordered interior LED and license plate LED light package from ijdmtoy.com.
Still lurking trying to find a better solution to reverse LED lights. Backup camera doesnt compare to Infiniti. Hoping some hot lighting will help.
Just thrilled to be back in the Acura family, loving it!

Good luck with your new ride. Once you own an RL it is difficult to settle for anything less sophisticated.

Really that much difference between the 3.5 and the 3.7?

To me, i always felt like the 3.5 was electronically limited in the low rpm range. It obviously opened up around 5000 rpms. The 3.7 seems to have this lower range opened up a bit. That being said, its still no vette. It just gets out of the way quicker.

Welcome back. I test-drove the M35X and had the exact same impression, BTW. I expected more and was really disappointed. It looks like a big luxury car until you drive it, but it sounds and feels like it might as well be an Altima.

Have to third that impression. I wasn't that impressed at all with the M35x being what it is.

OP, welcome back to Acura!

They remapped the ECU for the MMC and made the shifts quicker. Congrats!

I haven't looked for the post again, but 037 detailed replacing the reverse lights with HID's.

I followed and love this little upgrade.

Curious if an older ECU ('06) could be flashed with the same effect.

I'm sure Honda could, but they won't.
