I searched for this issue and did not find the exact one. My car does not recognize my key fob for unlocking purposes but does for locking. I can start the car just fine inside. Unlocking does not work for either door handle. Also, when locking, the light on the key fob blinks quickly so its not the RF antenna issue. When I approach the car I just need to press the unlock button on the fob and then I'm good. Anyone see this before? The only issue is unlocking for both doors.

Maybe unrelated but I have needed to do the window reset procedure twice. Related?

 

Sounds like the classic door handle problem to me. You need to replace both door handles to fix the problem because something shorted out internally at some point.

 

Ouch. I would think that the lock sensor would also go if it was the door handle issue. How much does this run?

 

I must also add that the trunk lets me in just fine. So that promity sensor works too.

 

Cost depends on whether you do it yourself or you have the dealer do it. If you buy the parts yourself online it'll cost you about $223 per handle. If you have the dealer do it, the entire job for both handles will prob run around a grand since they will charge more for the parts and they'll get you for around 2 hours of labor.

As for the locking part working, that is very common. Many others including myself have had either locking or unlocking work but not the other and vice versa. Only fix is to replace the handle.
