Just to the right of the headlight switch, on the turn signal stalk, there is another switch for the fog lights.

It's a ring on the stalk inside from the headlight switch. It has an icon of a light with waves in front of it.

No owners manual? If not, get one. If so, read it. Wealth of info in there.

They will only come on if the head lights are on.

I don't believe you can change the bulb on the RL's. I could be completely wrong but when my bulb went out, I discovered I had to buy an entire assembly because the bulb is encased in a glass housing that cannot be opened.

Wow. Is that what the dealership told you? If so, they took your ass for a ride. The bulbs can be swapped by themselves. You can either take off the front bumper or go through the splash guards in the wheel wells.

OP, you will want to remove the front bumper to properly install an HID kit.

The OP did not know how to turn the fog lights on and you are recommending that he removes the front bumper!

If he can't find a fog light switch, how in the world will he find the screws to remove the bumper? Don't be so dense.

I know how to work on my car I just couldn't find how to turn on fog lights I went from a 96 Honda accord to a 2006 Acura rl major change I've already installed k&n filter put on led bulbs on license plate and led on all interior bulbs and I had installed cold air intake on my accord it's just the whole fog light switch question was that I had just gotten car and didn't know it completely it didn't come with owners manual and I wanted to ask.

Definitely go on eBay and look for owner's manuals. If there's not any there, go to www.helminc.com. You can buy everything from the owner's manuals to the Factory Service Manual to the Navi manual. Good luck---

Aren't the Owner's Manuals available as a PDF file from the Acura Owners site? Although I did get a paper copy in my glove box, I download the online version and have it available to me on my iPad using the Adobe Reader app. What's nice about the PDF format is that it is all hyper-linked together and it is searchable.

Either that or run a simple search on google and it should point you to multiple sources to download the manual via PDF.

many people have swapped out fog light bulbs on this forum including myself. you can swap just the bulbs if you like, and you dont have to remove the bumper. do a search on this forum, because I brought it to a local shop to do it so I don't remember the details.

HID fogs require rewiring, probably not worth the effort.

I went with Nokya direct replacement high beam and fog bulbs from Amazon on the cheap to see if I would like yellow.

Nokya 9005/HB3 Headlight Bulbs - Hyper Yellow 2500K 65W (Stage 1)
Nokya H8 Hyper Yellow Halogen Light Bulb (NOK7623) (NK-Y-H8)

Not a single recommendation to read through the garage.

The owners manual is included in the service manual downloads. https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-rl-2005-2012-76/garage-helpful-2g-rl-info-789209/

Haha, that completely slipped my mind since I downloaded all the files awhile back.

I'm sure you know this and have looked there, but the handbook is usually located in the secret compartment above the glove box

While the Nokya's are nice, they did not provide nearly the amount of light output that 3000K HIDs did for my RL. No rewiring was needed. Simple plug and play.

that's it and you'll find the cabin filter buried behind it - and that's something worth checking every 12 months I find
