New 2006 RL owner - Trip Computer Reset Question
Hi all - just picked-up a 2006 with 68k miles and love the car so far.
I just had a question about the trip computer. Online, in the manual, and in this forum all I can find is that the trip computer can be manually reset. Even in the manual it reads "average fuel, speed, and time meter can be reset". OK - how is this done? ANy help would be appreciated.

OK, quick summary for anyone else having an issue finding this:
Your dash (not MID) should display mileage and Trip A by default at startup. Simply hold down the SEL Reset button that's on the bottom right quarter of the steering wheel. Hold for about 3 seconds until you hear a beep and\or you see the Trip A go to blank. To do Trip B, hit the SEL Reset button once and you will see Trip B displayed. Do the same for B and you are done.

Partially true. The MID is part of the instrument cluster (next to the speedometer). The display on the dash with the clock is called the upper LCD display. The MID will resume whatever setting was last used when the car was turned off which isn't necessarily TripA.

Just a thought..... do the Acura RL's have the same European Legend (Acura) option of the trip setting auto setting to zero when you refuel?......I find that quite useful altho' maybe I just need to get out more.
Interesting to see the differences in Spec between US & Europe altho' I see Canada has diff spec.
I have the Lane Assist Option where you can take your hands off the steering wheel and it steers for you for up to 20 seconds?....... just weird watching it centre the car on the road lanes, likewise the radar cruise adjusting the distance to the car in front...... I'm thinking Captain Kirk had all this decades ago! lol

I dont have that fill up reset option, or i just havent found it from the settings.
I think also that i cant set central locking so that all doors will open with only one push of the fob button or auto lock when i start driving.
I have that so called Tech I pack, not Tech II, so i dont have keyless entry, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane assistant, parking sensors, cooled seats, rear seat cup holders etc. I have reverse camera, heated seats, RDS radio, snow mode, turning head lights, auto lights (not daytime), auto wipers and rear fog light.

Wow. No keyless or rear cup holders?! Those are standard here. (You know the cup holders are in the arm rest; right?)
The reset on refill setting is buried in the MID menu similar to the lock settings. We also have the unlock 4 doors with 1 fob button push.

When the reset trip A based on the fuel door opening is chosen, should that also affect the average speed so it is also reset each time the fuel door is opened? I swear my average speed display NEVER changes by more than one or two km/hr regardless if I am gassing up stuck in traffic in the city and barely crawling the rest of the way home, or at a gas station out on the open road before a 2 or 3hr highway roadtrip @ 120km/hr

I do not think the ave speed is reset with the fill-up, only mpg.
