New '05 owner - questions

I just bought an 05 RL , 1 owner, with 66K miles in Carbon Pearl. I have been wanting this car since it came out, but it was too expensive. It's in another state, and I have to go on vacation soon, so I won't get it until after the 8th of April. Waiting is going to be tough. I have been reading up and am amazed how much stuff is packed into this car. I did purchase an extended warranty. I bought m y last car, an 04 Honda Pilot, the same way, sight unseen and was very happy. Hopefully this will turn out the same way. I have lots of questions but let's start with my biggest concern. PAX! I hope it does not have that. Am I correct in thinking that all 05 are PAX free?

Yes, you don't have to worry about PAX. All 2005 RLs are PAX free. Only 2006-2008 with the CMBS has PAX.

Yeah, I'm trying not to worry too much, it's a used car. But most of what I have read is positive. Any car has it's problems. I DID get an extended warranty from the lender but not the one that covers the nav and other electronic do dads because it was $1000 for 2 years 24K miles. I got the middle grade one that upgrades to cover things like power windows and locks, sunroof, seat motors, and covers to 45K miles. Helps cut a lot of the worry. My Pilot, which has almost the same engine has been a wonderful car. I have over 100K miles on it and it runs like new. My Pilot is a rocket, I can't imagine how this one drives. I used to have a 97 Lincoln Mark VIII and I miss that car. This one is kinda similar. I've been watching lots of youtube videos and wow, I keep laughing when I see another do dad I did not know it had. Can't wait to try my android phone with it. But I understand it will not upload contacts. Would be nice if it used bluetooth audio. I cannot believe this car does not have an ipod interface or at least an auxiliary input. That's the first thing I'm adding. I also have an iPod and saw the video about that but it looked like you could only play from playlists. If that's the case I'll just go with the cheaper aux in. Can I still use XM if I i use the aux in adaptor? I also want to tint the windows and maybe add a small subwoofer if it even needs it. I hope this isn't the type of Bose that fades in and out when you crank it.

The engine is solid; that isn't a concern with '05s. You can add an AUX/USB/BT setup that will give you everything you want. I am not sure if that is Acura Music Link or MediaBridge, but it is all documented in electronics. The sub is okay for most middle age people. However, an audiophile will be disappointed.

So it sounds like I'll need a sub. Should be an easy mod as well. This also lets you cut the bass out of the main system which makes it play louder and more clear. At least this is what happened when I added a sub to my Lincoln's JBL system, I was more than happy. Gonna go to the bank and get the checks and overnight them tomorrow and then let him use his shipper even though it's more. I figure it will alleviate the problem of "that dent was there when we picked it up". Now the waiting game, and worry game. It is going to be on my mind all vacation! How will I relax.
