Need some help on used struts.

Normally id never consider this and never have but i figured at the price point and details. Its worth a shot.
recently came across someone local selling a set of oem struts with about 30k on them for $150 granted the seller has been honest about everything what visual things should I be checking for?
my current struts are fine but i thought id entertain and potentially get a good deal on some back up struts. Figured they could buy me time till i get around to buying new oem.
thanks in advance.

150 for a full set of struts with only 30K on them is hard to believe.. but worth the gamble i guess. check for visual leaks.

nice. well good luck on the install and hope they work well. Could be an awesome bargain.

Don't forget to do an alignment after the install if you care at all about your tires

I really dont need to and wont be installing for a good while.. im on the fence with if i should run H&Rs on my current struts. Far as i know they are og, my car has over 100k but they feel great. So im unsure about pulling them just for h&rs....lol

Wow are those the kb2 struts? With only 30K on them for $150 AND complete assemblies? That's a deal imo. Sad I missed out on it. Grats!

I installed new KYB's in the front of my 2005 RL when it had ~110k on it. They only lasted about 25,000 miles. YMMV but I was very disappointed in their reliability. I have since replaced them with OEM struts and so far so good. Granted I live in RI and our roads suck but I would have liked to have gotten at least 50k miles out of the KYB but I did not. For reference I have ~155k on my 05 RL now. The OEM struts are still holding up well.

Yea we dont really have reliable replacement strut options other than OEM. Kybs were oncea decent strut but this is before they downgraded their production like most other companies to save money.
the only other brand id trust on my car is Koni but they keep ignoring my pleas to produce a strut for our platform lol.
im almost 100% sure my rl is still running original oem struts and at 120k+ i cant imagine how much better a new set could feel.
im excited about picking up this backup OEM set with only 30-35k
