Need help finding door retaining clip

Long story -> short, while replacing the drivers side window regulator, the small black retainer clip for the door handle/lock broke. Dealership says they don’t sell that piece separately, I would have to buy the whole handle assembly together for around $150.00! Does anyone know of a place where I can buy the clip alone?

Best/cheapest bet would be your local auto salvage yard. Next try ebay - several on sale there right now at reasonable prices (no affiliation). Just do a search for an RL door handle with your year. Doubt that they would sell just that small part but at those prices you might as well get the whole handle.

The black clip that retains the cable to the door handle on the inside? They do sell that separately, I know because I’ve broken it about 4 times and I’ve had to buy it lol. I don’t have the part # handy but I’ll post it later.

Small black clip is the part, they told me they would only sell the handle, saw a handle on eBay for $20, but if you know where to get it alone that would be great!

The part I'm referring to is 72174-S2X-003 for the driver side handles. The passenger side is 72134SM4003

The top part # I supplied is from the bag of clips that I've used on my '07 for the driver side doors, so it should work on yours assuming you need the driver side. I haven't had to use the passenger side, but I used the same methodology to pull up the part number.

Since it is an OEM piece, I should be able to have the dealer order it for me right? Shipping is twice the amount of what I’m ordering lol

It makes more sense to order this from the dealer since shipping would be a deal killer on this...

That’s exactly why I was asking, 2 clips = $6, shipping is $11 and that’s not over night either

Yeah, that's a no go on that Dealer would probably charge just as much to have it in next day.

I’ll definitely get a couple more now that I have the right one. How have you broken them? I’m curious now to see if it’s the same clips used in the TL
