Navigation display comming on when car is off

Ok so before I take it to the dealer here is what’s going on...

The navigation LCD backlight will come on maybe 10 minutes after I leave the car locked in my driveway. Last night it was on for probably 2 hours before my neighbor called me and said there was something on in my car. If I pull the radio fuse it goes off. I did that so it didn't kill my brand new redtop battery. I tested it again this morning and same deal. It doesn’t light up right when I lock the car but will be on if I walk back to it after 10 or 15 minutes. The display is just lit up but with a black screen, so during the day it’s hard to tell that it’s on but at night it is very visible.

Has anyone had this happen before?

I see you have a 2005
Did you just buy it used, or you are long time owner?
If you just got the car, make sure you are turning ignition all the way off

Ive had it around 6 months and have put about 10k miles on it... Im sure the ignition is all the way off. This is the first time its had an issue like this. With all the rain we have had I wonder if something got wet.

The thing is, you're parking on an Indian burial ground. Next week, when you look in the rear view mirror, you will see yourself pull your face off. It's the natural progression.

LOL... That might be it.

A local salvage yard is willing to sell me a complete nav system for $500 (DVD Nav unit, LCD, Audio, climate control) and I’m thinking of getting it so maybe it will fix the problem. If not I guess it’s still good to have spares since ill be driving this car for a long time…

I get that odd "on, but still black" screen when the car is running on occasion. It maybe happens once a week. I haven't experienced it when the car is off, but perhaps I wasn't paying attention......
