My RL w Pics and looking for more to do

looking on eBay for a spoiler for my RL the lowest I'm seeing is 130ish Unpainted, wondering if anyone knows a better price or similar priced in premium white?

I've had m RL 3 weeks and its already been polished and waxed, LED everything, repaired the broken glass on the fog light and swapped to 2500K Nokya i have 2 Michelin AS/3 tires i haven't mounted yet.. I'm waiting to tint it but my guy is on vacation

What are some other things people do to the RL? Ive been all over this forum but none of the pictures work anymore

Things still on my agenda are..
Spoiler
Rear Camera (Navtool & Universal rear camer)
Stock diameter Unorthodox Pulley (bought one for 130 but returned it an hour later)
DRLs (not in the biggest rush to do this though)
CAI.. considering the RL has a pretty decent intake system as is I was thinking of just adding a KNN filter to maintain the stock engine bay look (for now)
Update the navigation.. I am under the impression that despite whichever year I choose it doesn't overhaul the look of the screen itself
J-Pipe (summer is ending so its not a priority but Black Friday will soon be here

I really can't think of anything else but I'm open to any ideas anyone else has.. granted the RL isn't the most popular car to mod if you look in my sig to my Buick Build thread you can see I go the extra mile to mod my cars

What else is there to do or any Info you can pass my way anything is helpful
In the meantime I wanna post just a couple random pics of my RL of what I've done so far

hi! nice car!

wondering how much power your regal makes, and is it sent through the front wheels?
and stock brembos?

also, it seems like you have enough knowledge of cars to basically mod the RL on your own.

and since you have a turbo car, you'll know that N/A's dont re-act to the same power mods.

i would scrap the KN filter, because the stock filter isnt a bottle neck.
the crank pulley, there are no gains there either.

yeah, the navigation disk does not upgrade the way the navigation looks, only updates POI's which are pointless.

since, it is a hard car to mod, most people just do wheels and suspension and call it a day.

You always say this, yet I've yet to see you, or anyone for that matter, show any proof.

Not saying it isn't true, but it's like "well, the stock system looks like it flows just fine and someone said it is just as good, so fuck it, good enough for me."

Is there any dynos supporting the claim from years gone by? I remember running across the 3G TL one, where a guy dyno'd his car before and after and claimed to make like 15 hp and torque

a member tested the paper media and found out how much air passes through.

and it also makes sense, why would honda choose to use a restrictive filter in one of their highest output v6?

Only dyno I ever ran was pure stock flywheel it made 211 whp torque I forget I think 220ish?

My Tuning was a nightmare because I had 2 tuners and one of them locked my ECU so that the other tuner couldn't steal info but as the car sits now I have power at 315whp I never really pushed it but 350whp was my goal but now that summer is winding down and I have the RL I'm more than fine with my Buicks current HP, and yeah the brembos are stock 14 inch 4 piston calipers the FWD has never been a big issue since it has sport and GS mode and the car sits on Michelin super sports all around on 265/35/20s

On my old 2008 accord I under drove the pulley and it was night and day especially since I had the 6mt I'm not looking to create a monster RL but more of a modern day sport sedan the stock diameter pulley would add some more responsive pep to the engine I don't know how it'd be though I have to search more on the forum but half the threads on here have no pics anymore
I would do aCAI but I can't justify it being better than the stock system on my buick I took off the stock air box and replaced it with a 2005 KNN trailblazer cone ( larger size better for my turbo)

Is there anyway I can get rid of the blue lighting inside the car you know what I'm talking about
And finding the wood steering wheel pshh I had found one I found on eBay had it for 220 but chickened out in the end and now it's sold
Not to sound like a "uneducated car newbie" but all I want is 25 hp out of this engine and with the JPipe and pulley I believe its possible probably needing a 3rd supporting mod though

There's differing opinions on the pulley mod. It is true that dyno results showed pretty much zero power increase above 3000-3500rpm and below that the gains were minimal at best.

However, that being said, I had that mod done on my '03 Accord V6 coupe and it felt like the engine would climb the rpm ladder just that much faster. Maybe it was all a placebo effect, but I wasn't the only one who noticed it. For the price, it's not like "OMG I just wasted so much money for this thing!!"

You also mentioned the navi update- personally, I think it's a good idea. I rarely use my navi, but it is nice to not be driving out in space because the navi disk is 10 years old and it had no idea about any new areas built since then. Also, yes, the display will still look like it is from 1996. Not much you can do about that unless you start doing an entire navi swap from something else.

Two comments:

1. Yeah, maybe you're right. Ive been told that on the G35, the biggest HP gains are netted with just one of those K&N filters and something called a "Z tube" from the 350Z, as far as mods to the air intake go. All other intakes didn't produce as much power. It might be a different case for the RL though.

2. Why does Honda do half of the shit they do these days? It leaves many of us scratching our heads on the daily

ideally id love to under drive the motor but the consensus from what i have read is dont under drive and i agree

the next thing i want to do although i havent prioritized what to do first is
1. 2009 RL Rear sway bar with the bushings ( gotta price check it )
2. Rear camera with navtech
3. Stock Diameter Pulley
4. Spoiler
5. Wood Steering wheel if i can find it

High flow pre-cats, j-pipe, and cat back should get you close to 20. We have proof from two dynos that the AEM intake and 5-Zigen cat back produce 12 WHP, and I am willing to bet almost all of it was from the cat back.

Many people have claimed the light weight pulley lets the car rev faster, and it makes since why it would. It doesn't have to make more HP to make the car quicker or more responsive.

Wood steering wheel is a must IMO, but it sounds like you are on board. Keep the search open to 2005-2012 since it became the stock option in 2009 and there are salvaged parts floating around.

The ASpec lip kit adds a ton of style to the front of the car. The sides and rear are little gain for lots of $$$, so many have opted for just the front lip and mud flaps to fix the transition to stock side skirts.

Obviously wheels and suspension are popular for any car.

Not sure why you would want to change out the blue ambient lighting, but they should all just be LEDs. Whether they are surface mount or through hole, you can theoretically change them to whatever you want if you have access to or know someone with a soldering iron.

Rear sway bar and deck lip are good choices too.

suspension wise KYB seems to be my only option and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth knowing its KYB... although I know nothing about them.. its like buying a Audi S4 but putting a A4 suspension on it if that makes any sense.. its still good suspension but it isnt my first choice in what I would put in.
if you see the steering wheel please let me know.. im gonna sleep on the pulley tonight.. I dont need to replace the belt since its the same stock size and the belt in my RL only has 10k miles on it it was replaced at 63k and I currently have 71.5k I really want to under drive it but I cant do it
the A-Spec kit is a must for me but i still have templates on lol next spring is another story though.. SPY what are they going for and where are they being bought from?

by the end of the week I will have either have bought the navtool and rear camera or the Stock sized pulley.. all depends on how i sleep tonight lol

Not sure why KYB is your only option. That won't really mod anything since it should be OEM equivalent (minus quality potentially). I was thinking H&R lowering springs or coilovers, but I know you are in snow. That's why I didn't mention it much.

The ASpec lip was typically bought from online dealers. oemacurapartstim, is a vendor here and the online parts salesman of Acura of Peoria. I think Del Ray and maybe Curry Acura also have vendor permissions here. However, some colors are essentially out of stock, and I think white is one of them (those guys can confirm). If that's the case, then you will have to find the rare one sitting on some random dealer shelf or find one used.

5 flat tires on Nokian Studded tires which cost 475 dollars each lol i did get one for free since it was a common occurrence lol

On a side note.. I went outside before to walk my dog and I went to check out my Nokian Yellow 2500k fogs and honestly I'm not a fan of them at all the color is nice but it looks cheap to me and isn't as powerful of a yellow i want so instead I went on The Retrofit source and I'm going to go for 35w 5500k HIDs so no pulley until maybe next week http://www.theretrofitsource.com/hid...A#.VdvkCnizBHg

Modded cars at stock height look funny to me.

Im still sitting here confused how yoy say kyb leaves a bad taste then comment that you know absolutely nothing about them.

To each their own. Enjoy dat sexy rl. Wish i had one.

5500k (didn't know TRS sold that color) will be bluer than the low beams. I personally wouldn't go any higher than 5000k regardless of my signature. It seems odd that they only offer a 5500k option with that kit since they are just the XB bulbs that come on all colors. Maybe you could call and ask if a bulb swap is possible since their customer service is top notch. I have the 5000k in my Tundra fogs and I am considering 4300k since I need to replace them.

KYB = Weaksauce. They were once a decent option. Today not so much... Id rather spend the extra coin on dealership suspension.
