Multi-view rear camera and other misc. questions
Multi-view rear camera and other misc. questions
I was checking out the Acura site and saw the info on the ILX and RDX and they are both available with a Multi-View Rear Camera
http://www.acura.com/future/ILX#5
Anyone actually know what that entails? I've not heard of anything like that.
Next, since I'm not one to follow car show debuts versus model releases and schedules, approximately how long after the April car show will Acura release real world details and specifications about the RL? I still don't plan on getting one until at least 2014 (post bug fixes and presuming it will be a glorious return of a cool car) but am curious with Acura's secrecy, when I'll know the real cost and what will truly be incorporated into the final available models
Thanks for any information

Thanks both of you for the info on expected model release and the camera.
After further research I found that not only has been an upgraded and useful version of the rear camera system been available for Hondas and the Acura MDX, There is a front camera version available in Japan.
So why was the RL (the "flagship") left with a first generation camera system? It couldn't be that difficult to add a functional and tested "existing" camera system.
If this is the flagship, then the flag must be flying upside down! The more I find about just how little Acura cares about the RL the more frustrated I get!
End of rant and thanks again for the information.

The 3G RL should right the ship, or flag so-to-speak, or flagship if you will
. I think Acura knew it had a losing battle with the MMC RL when it came to sales. It already had the chassis and all the technology from 2004. The ROI for changing even simple things was likely too small. I expect Acura to go all out with the new one and market it to sell like they did in 2005. I would expect lane monitors, blind spot monitors, a new sound system, and new navi to go along with the DI V6, 7-speed, and Hybrid drive train.
