Minor Ding / $425.00 Estimate

About a month ago, I had my 06 Lakeshore RL parked on the street and a kid came along and fell off his bike onto my car!!!! Needless to say, I was quite upset but my anger was calmed because it was a small child. My local dealer wants to charge me $425.00 to pull out the tiny dent and paint the MINOR scrape. It has been about a month and it has not rusted, however it looks white and the paint will need to be corrected soon. He says they will need to keep the car 3 days.

get another estimate.
its costing me only $900 to have an entire rear bumper replaced... new part, labor, paint and one silver trim isert as well.
$425 might be a bit high just to get a paint job.

Thumbs down minor ding / 425.00 Estimate with pictures

Here are pictures of my car. I had it parked on the street and a small kid fell off his bike and his handle bar hit my car. It slightly scratched paint......fingernail like scratch and left a tiny dent. Dealer wants 425.00 to fix "like new."

Can the scratch be buffed out? If yes,See if you can find a "Dent Doctor" for the dent. If not.ugh!!

I merged your two threads and "fixed" your image code in these last two posts.

I just had two nice size door dings fixed on my Land Cruiser. One on the rear passenger driver's side door, and the other on the front passenger door. They (Dent Busters) charged me $100 for each one. Now once the dent is removed can the paint damage be buffed or touched up to a point where you wouldn't notice it?

I'd go after the parents.

This is the whole reason I have an umbrella policy (so if someone in my family falls off their bike I'm covered).

Are they sure they can work that dent via PDR? Is the paint cracked?

$425 is a bit steep, I'd take it to a local PDR guy, and if the paint cracks or cannot be buffed out, bring it to a body shop. PDR will probably be around $150-200 for that, and paint should be about $100.

If youre in the NYC area (which I think I remember reading about in one of your posts), I can recommend two great places. One in northern NJ and one in Peekskill. The one in Peekskill holds group dent days where they charge about $75 per dent, and they do excellent work.. One may be coming up shortly.

Yeah no kidding. You're crazy if you pay for that yourself.

This is a little OT, but ImageShack is a pain in the a$$ with their popups. Even my Netscape 8 popup blocker won't stop them. I think most people would prefer you just post the full-size pic and not link to someone like them.

Oh yes, Adblock Plus to be exact.
Firefox is definitely superior to everything out there.

Dent Wizard in Leonia NJ. They do excellent work, but are a bit pricey.

Ultimate Collision Center in Peekskill. They hold 'Dent Days' with the STi, Evo and S2000 crowd. These guys do excellent PDR work, AND paint work. When my wife was rear ended on xmas, we brought the RL here and they did a perfect paint match to the Premium White Pearl.

I'll inquire when the next dent day is.
