Why oh Why can't Acura have a TV commercial like the new XF, with the car doing power slides, music etc. The new Jaguar ads are emotional and visceral. Acura is licking its wounds with the latest RL.

Acura works with a Marketing/Advertising/Design Firm based in California called Rubin Postaer & Associates. They also have offices in Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Portland, and New Jersey.

That Marketing Firm is one of the top firms in the US and have worked with many companies from small to large corporations.

Back to the question, I think Acura and RP & Associates wanted to pick a theme when they create print & TV ads. Looking at some of the example from the website, it looks like they like to focus on Luxury + Technology. Performance aspect is noted but never the central theme.

PS , check out their RP & Associates Website for examples of their previous ads ranging from the TSX, TL, RL, and the RDX.

Really?!?

Why are they in F1, Superbikes, ALMS, etc then?

They certainly made me emotional when they beat Porsche at Sebring last year, and in the late 80's early 90's when they helped win the F1 Constructor's Title 6 years in a row.(86-91)

Not to mention the titles in CART/IRL.

Ummm..... try an S2000 lately? Just drove mine to the office this afternoon and after shifting at 8k (too chicken to try 9k right now ) a few times, I'd say that was a pretty visceral car to drive.

But your point is well taken as that driving sense has not translated down the line recently.
