Question Is this a malfunction, or just a setup issue?

I purchased a used 09 CMBS last week and everything seems to work fine except the passenger’s side door lock. I can press the button on the door to lock the car, but grabbing the door handle does not unlock the car. I would expect that the passenger door would function exactly like the driver door – the car unlocks if I have the remote in my pocket and touch the door handle.

I did change the setting to have all the doors unlock if the door handle is touched, but that is not the problem that I am describing.

I could not find any instruction in the manual that described disabling the “touch” feature on the passenger’s door. Is there such a setting?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a malfunction. This is a known issue and I myself have it with my driver's side handle. Take your car back to the dealer and have them check it out. They should replace it at no cost, if you are under warranty.

Yep, they replaced my door handles and reprogrammed my remotes.

Take both of them with you.
