Maintenance Minder Reset

I have a 2005 RL. The 'B2' service reminder is on in the display and it shows 5% left to an oil change. I don't live near a dealer and won't we able to get the service done for about 1,000 miles. This 'B2' reminder and/or the 'i' showing up in the display drives me nuts driving night. The owner's manual tells me how to reset the minder but I can't get it to work. I turn on the ignition, the 'B2' shows up. I press and hold the Sel/Reset and nothing happens. On another forum it says it may have to do with my lights being set to auto on. I turned that off too. There must be a simple soultion to this irritation. Can anyone help?
Thanks

I can only think that you may not be holding down the SEL/RESET button long enough. You should hold it down for at least 10 seconds. You also need to have the oil life minder on the screen at the time you push the button. All of this is on page 294 of the owner's manual. Good luck.

I got it. The key was the oil life minder must be displayed before pressing the SEL/RESET. I was pressing it when the screen said SERVICE B2. Thanks 1HOT NSX

You ought to do the service before resetting it...

Drive to Jiffy Lube with a Napa Gold or Purolator PureOne oil filter pre-purchased from Napa or Advanced Auto, respectively, and have them change the oil/filter, rotate the tires, and replace the engine and cabin air filters. I bet it'll be less than $200, much less that what the dealership will charge you.

Where I live the closest Acura dealer is 650km south of here. Thats why I needed the AWD. As for Jiffy, Napa or Purolator...we just have a Canadian Tire. As soon as I get a few days off to visit civiliazation I'll get Acura to do it.
