07 RL - have owned the car for 8 years - this does not happen frequently - maybe 6 times in the past 8 years. When starting a loud bang can be heard - sounds like a 22 short going off.....any suggestions? Help

 

Sounds like a backfire-type problem. Mixture too rich, or gas accumulating on the previous shutdown? Problem with the fuel injectors? Is there any pattern to when it happens, such as cold weather (a typical rich-mixture situation)?
