Question. What's the OFFSET on the RL wheels? I know the stock is 17 x 8 5 x 120 what's the offset? 55m? I think the offset on my TL is 55m. Would a 38M offset work on a wheel?

According to the info it says it will fit on a 08 RL.

It is not safe to buy wheels based on specs alone. It is always best to get guaranteed fitment from the seller. That said, I think our offset is 35 mm.

I do agree with the dealer guy you met. Set your standard for a Tech I package. If a CMBS comes along, jump on it, but don't let a good Tech I get away.

True if a good cmbs rolls by and I can get it. I'll try. But I'll be in a tech a lot faster than a cmbs. I sent a link to a set of wheels I found on eBay above.
I like them and it has a place where u can put ur car model in and it will tell u if it fits and when I put the rl 08 (or 07) model in it says that specific wheel will fit. So I guess I could do those if I got a rl since they fit.

Just a fair warning: get a guarantee in writing that they fit from the seller and that if they don't, they can be returned. A lot of those fitment guides will only take into account bolt patterns, bores, and offsets, but that does not always translate into clearing calipers.

I had looked at that threa the other day, and made some sense from it. I guess I was right that 55m was the offset. Does the offset change if u go with 19's or 18's? Also do u recommend any website or links to find wheels that will fit a RL?
thanks in advance.

Not being a smart ass (this time) but do you understand how offset works?

While we're on the subject of "didja know's", I don't mean to be a smart ass either, but there are a couple more:

1. The advice to deal with a reputable merchant is excellent advice. For example, you're a lot better off going with somebody like Tire Rack or Discount Tire than with an eBay merchant, unless the eBay storefront is just a storefront for a brick-and-mortar merchant near you.

2. Once again, stuff that can easily be added aftermarket shouldn't sway your deal. I'm talking specifically about backup cams and AUX inputs, both of which are easy to add in such a way that you'd never even know the¥ weren't OEM.

3. This is getting a llttle personal, but I kind of cringed when I read that you were shopping to a monthly payment. Cars aren't assets that appreciate -- they wear out and lose their value. Financially, it's basically a bad idea to buy "as much car as you can possibly afford." It's a way better idea to buy LESS car than you can afford, so your budget isn't strained to the limit.

Far be it from me to discourage anybody from the pleasure of owning an RL, but I hate to hear that someone is straining in these crappy economic times just to temporarily drive a luxurious car. You might want to think about whether it'd be more relaxing to know you're not one month of disability from having the repo man pick up whatever car you buy. Again, my apologies for the personal nature of this comment, but I'd just hate to see you posting next year that you didn't get to enjoy the full remaining life of your car because you overextended yourself to buy it -- and that happens to a LOT of people these days.

Thanks to everyone for all the helpful information. The comments. Opinions and etc.
As of now I'm putting the RL purchase on the shelf. No time no real desire to keep searching either. I'm burnt out. Been looking almost 6 months. So for now I'm gonna enjoy the rest of my TL and she's almost paid off! So hell I may just enjoy a no car payment life for a while when I do buy the RL expect to see me in a post!

I look forward to seeing it. In the meantime, enjoy those non-payments -- and that nice TL!

A TL is not a bucket by any stretch of the imagination. I think you would be making a wise choice by driving the TL until a) the wheels fall off or b) it starts to cost more annually to maintain it than make payments. The only reason I bought my RL is because Legend #1 was struggling. I had a 25 mile commute one way, and I couldn't afford to not make it to work.

Keep the TL. It's a nice car. Assuming it's a UA6 or 7, it's a really sharp car too!

Come to think of it, some may even say it's Top of the Line and think you are doing really well for yourself.

its true what 007spy says about a tl. shot i had one and sold my 06 tl for a 06 NHB RL with an extended warranty which covers everything(bull). to say this though my car isnt the pax but the tech and brought a revs. cam. and an ipod adapter which i didnt have to do anything to the rl. all i want now is a navi tool for dvds, and some nice rims. but my fiance and i are looking to sell the rl soon due to purchasing a house. which im sorry to change subjects on your thread but. as much as i may love this car looks like it will be leaving me. all i did to it was tint the car, making her look presidential.

have to say though, changing from a tl to an rl was the best decision i ever made. even though i loved my tl, but she was turning almost 180 so she had to go. i have an acura family. i had 2 tls an 08 mdx, my mom had an 10 mdx, and sis had a 06 tsx and now she has 2011 tsx and i now have the rl. and driving all those cars i have to say the rl is the best. well hope you find that perfect rl. lucky when i sold my tl 2days later i found this beauty.
