license plate trunk light

I'm on superbrightleds.com, where Touge bought the bulbs for his car. I'm pretty sure it's THIS one. But I don't know which to get, cool white or natural white. Cool white = 8000k and natural white = 4500k. Which one are they in this picture?

The higher kelvin will give you the bluer look.

I need to do that mod, it looks great.

That is definitely NOT 4500k, the blueish tint indicate a 6000k+ output. What is the cost of the bulbs on superbrightleds.com?

I went the cheapy E-bay route and got these:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/White...Q5fAccessories

It is a 5 led pattern (size 194 or T15 led) and the output looks pretty much like Touge’s RL.

Dammit, bought the natural white (4500K) -___- It's OK though, I wanted it to be similar to the headlights.

They were about $3 each bulb and $5 minimum shipping.

How about the interior LED upgrade? 10X easier then the licenses plate, and looks very high-tech (just don't go blue)

You know what? I was actually thinking about changing all the interior bulbs after having driven a loaner '09 TL. It looks really nice. I counted 10 bulbs, including the one in the trunk. Is it really easy to do?

Let’s put it this way, when I change out my licenses plate lights, I too broke a rubber stump & 2 plastic clips (which I had to super glue back) but with the interior lights all I needed was small thin flathead screwdriver. And best of all, I didn’t break anything!

10 bulbs including trunks sounds correct, but I am anal and change out the vanity lights on the flip shad mirror to led too!

Ryan, I saw this on ebay and I thought of you...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/WHITE...Q5fAccessories

it's 60 SMD LED light bulb for the reverse light.... this think will light up the back of your ride like putting a head light in the back if you have a backup camera, this will light up the night like day

They even got LED fog lights.... only draw back, a bit pricy

Holy Crap! 60 LED on single light set? People will be seeing Jesus every time I reverse my RL.

I would jump on those led, but dang $60 a pop is way to overprice! Plus I am not a religious man.

Ah, forgot about those! I'd probably change those too. Any idea what size bulbs we need and where we can get them?

31mm Vanity 3 SMD LED via Ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWNX%3AIT

If our interior lens cover wasn't frosted, the LED output would look amazing at night, but still a major upgrade from out brownish oem lights.

Thanks for the link. Does that bulb replace every OEM bulb, or are some different sizes?

Dome light

Post #13 is for a Ebay link for the 2 vanity LED. The 168/194 will fit the map, doors, trunk, and license plate. And you need the 3175 for the rear domo LED.

I think the total is 11 bulbs. 10 doesn't make sense, because the trunk makes it an odd number.

2 flip mirror bulbs
2 map bulbs
2 dome bulbs
4 door bulbs
1 trunk

Am I missing any?

Nvm, I found the answer to that question.

But, could anyone tell me exactly what bulbs, from SuperBrightLEDS.com, I need for the vanity mirrors and the rear dome light?

Good pick. The 8000K look the best. Just jump on ebay real quick. It's only a few bucks.

I don't really want to buy the eBay lights from Hong Kong. I've bought a couple of lights from SuperBrightLEDS.com already, and I want to stick with it to keep it the same. Just need help with the sizes and stuff.

These T-10 lights are the right size for license plates. You may find them a little directional at 120 degrees, but these are the brightest I have found, in either natural or cool white.

http://www.superbrightleds.com/specs/WLED-xLX.htm

I just came across these, and they may be brighter, but this site does not like to give specs. With so many LEDs, you may get more "bulb" like coverage. Unfortunately, it looks as if they will overheat if run more than 15 mins continuously

http://www.v-leds.com/Interior-LED/D...92687-1-2.html

I have used these, and find them unacceptably dim

That's the one I got for my license plate lights. Just need to figure out exactly which one I'll need for my rear dome and inner trunk lid.

Thanks for the link Socal! I really like those 6 SMT led lights for the map, extremely BRIGHT! Do they fit perfectly? I had problems with more bulb (6led vs the 4led) led (they where to big) for the map incasement.

My map lights in the pic above look bright, but they aren't that bright. It's just the shutter on the camera is opened a bit longer. I would say almost the same as regular bulb, maybe a tad dimmer.

They fit, but these particular LED's have a thicker base, so you have to work it in a bit. No problem though.

I'll try to take pics of my license plate lights next week sometime. I'm off to Vegas tonight for the weekend!
