license plate LED directional not 360

I just put in LED license plate bulbs. The problem is that it looks very directional, it's pointing down and not emitting light all around as it does on the Lexus. Could it be that I bought the wrong bulb? Here is the info from SuperBrightLEDS.com:

WLED-xHP5

4 Radially Mounted High Power SMD LEDs, 1 Forward Aiming SMD LED,
360 degree beam

I put in these from SuperBrightLEDS.com

http://www.superbrightleds.com/specs/WLED-xLX.htm. The 1 watt LED is 55-60 lumens in natural white. It is much brighter than the ones you selected, but the 120 degree beam is somewhat directional. I have to retake the pix I have using manual exposure, because the auto exposure way overexposes the license plate giving you a false impression of the beam pattern. Maybe next weekend.

I am really more interested in what KB1 Spec did, not sure which ones he used in his license plate, but only one of those looks like it might fit, and it looks like a single hi power LED, not the festoons or the square panel, none of which I think would fit in our light housing.

Do you mind circling which components you used in the license plate? Thanks!

On the image the bottom left connector. The one looks kinda like a flat head.

Thanks,

I forgot to ask if you had a website where you purchased?

the directional are better for this use bc the 360s dont work too well. i spent 40 bucks on 8000k standard multidirectional polarg led bulbs... and they failed me. well they didnt fail me, they just werent as bright as the ones i got online for 10 bucks a pair.
