There is also a halo kit out there, but I suggest fog light DRLs.

I just did it 2 days ago LOL! IJDM sells the White LED but its not listed under their site for Acura RL. However, I bought it and it works. I am sending them higher resolution pics so they can post it on their site and hopefully they will update it. Also, the LED are only for show so your high beam will not do much but just aim brighter. Also, IJDM has the install instruction and it is exactly the same so there's really no point for me to post it.

Zelaya- If you mean visibility while driving, you won't get anything out of it..its meant for show so I wouldn't suggest it if you live in areas that doesn't have city lights. stay with oem or go with HID...rarely use high beam so I didn't really care. If you mean if others looked at it and you high beam them, you'll definitely see the difference which is just whiter haha.

did this LED bulb you put in totally remove the halogen high beam bulb??
from your posts above, I assume you meant that by doing this, you essentially lost your high beams???
Id be interested in some way to redo the DRLs, but I don't want to lose the high beams. on one of my prior cars, a volvo, there was a small manual switch that allowed you to turn on/off the DRLs. i can't believe acura didn't give us a way to turn them off!!!
is it expensive/hard to convert the high beams / DRLs to HID?

Follow this install from a honda civic. It shows how to connect the harness better than the instruction from IJDM. If you do end up getting it, just be careful installing the LED if you don't remove the battery. The bulb are a tight fit and if you angle it wrong going in and get frustrated trying to tighten it, you can snap the led from the base which I did =( Otherwise, its pretty easy and comes out very nice! No more yellow drl!

It is funny that there isn't a switch for the DRL but I don't care about it since I have white Leds so I want my DRL on every chance I get haha. Hid kit for 9005 shouldn't be too expensive..you can always buy it via ebay "xentec" for $32.99 and they work fine or go with better named brands for more. If you use high beam, I would not suggest LED and suggest go for the HID. You'll get the best of both world =)

Oops, forgot about the HID and DRL. I assume it should but I doubt it. Even when I had 8000k low beam, I never used my high beam. I just turned on my 3000k HID fog haha. Now, with 5000k OSRAM, i def don't need high beam!

The kit is about $59.99 and it comes with the DRL no error harness. So I don't have any error. The resistors get hot so attach it to metal. You can buy it via their ebay account which saves you tax and shipping =)

I'll go take some pics but the last time I tried to take it in the morning, it showed the LED flickering through the camera when it really isn't through the naked eye =/ I'll try again since I am going out!

Great look Sniffles, and thanks for the pics.
Not to be a downer or anything, but the exact same setup can be had for <$10. I had bought almost exactly the same bulbs on eBay, except H11 for the fogs, for $8 shipped. The code can be circumvented by a single high power resistor on either high beam. Usually the LED bulbs have a resistor anyway, so it is possible an external one is not needed. If it is needed, Radio Shack has some for ~$2.
I understand it is nice to be able to buy something complete and ready to plug in, but I want to let everyone know that this seller is making $50 off of each one of these he sells. Regardless, I am glad someone has done this mod because this question comes up rather frequently.
On a different note, where did you buy the Osram 5000k bulbs, and how much did they cost? These will be my replacements when my factory bulbs die.

Good to know! I don't trust myself so I rather pay a little extra for the comfort of knowing it's suppose to work haha.
The Osram 5000k I bought it from motivemods. Only place to buy them..Plus, use "HIDPLANET" and you get $65 off! Found the coupon thru a infiniti forum. Total was $250 but after coupon, it was $195. I had to wait an extra week since he ran out and had to order more. Buy it before the coupon ends since idk if it still works or not

For sure visibility. I am coming from 8000k so I 5000k improved my driving at night signifcantly. Also a whiter and the cut off line are more precise! Beam is wider but maybe thats cause i had almost none when I was running 8000k. $195 isn't cheap but it seems you already done your mugen kit, coilovers..these bulbs shouldn't do too much damage =) Meanwhile, I have to decide Mugen or Aspec..then coilovers and rims =(((

If you do end up buying one, the only thing to consider is the power rating. Since P=V^2/R, and V=12 for the highbeams, you resistor needs to be rated for 144/R Watts. I have found a 100 ohm resistor does the trick, so if you get a 1.5W 100 ohm resistor, you will be fine. I am sure the resistor could be higher, but I have only tried 100. As long as the power rating is in-line with the calculation, you will not have any melting parts in your engine bay.

Con mucho gusto. Like I mentioned, you may not need the external resistor at all b/c the LED bulbs usually have them. I would try without it first. If it is needed, you will only need to connect it between the positive and negative wires on one of the high beams. Resistors are not polarized, so it does not matter which way it is connected.

Correct, I lost my high beam but since I never use them, I don't think it matters too much since I also have the OSRAM Cool Blue 5000k low beam. The LED replaces the 9005 high beam/DRL bulb.
It is funny that there isn't a switch for the DRL but I don't care about it since I have white Leds so I want my DRL on every chance I get haha. 2 led only been used for like a month and the other one is new...I had to order another set of led since I broke the led while installing since they're fragile and the opening is pretty small...Lmk!

Ya! I have the 68 led one but I don't even use it anymore since I have halos and it has been disabled...I could sell you my set with 3 led instead of 2 and the harness(with a slight burn mark but its not affecting anything) for $40 shipped?

Hello Sniffles, I wish I would have known you were selling your led kit. I never bought the kit you purchased and I'm still have the error dash message which is a little annoying so if one of your buyers fake on you shoot me a pm. I really need the wiring but it won't hurt to have extra led bulbs.
