LED DRL help...because I'm about to stab something.

So since I'm not into spending 100+ dollars on an LED DRL setup, I'm trying to do an LED DRL on the cheap. Sourced some LED bulbs with "kit" supposedly for the 2GRL. Hooked it up and only the passengers side lights up with the handbrake off...drivers side on all the time as long as the battery is connected.

So I sourced a relay harness from ijdmtoy. Thing is they don't have one specifically for the 2GRL, but have one for the TL that they said will work. Hooked it up per the instructions and I get nothing at all. No DRL, no high beam, no bulb out warnings.

Power is good, chassis ground has to be good (tried 3 different spots).

Anyone have any ideas? Attached is a pic of the instructions.

Did you test the 12V+ line into the bulbs to see if it's making power directly to the bulb? Could be a shotty relay, but I think it's the fact that the RL's DRL's don't run at 12V but somewhere lower (I can't remember the exact voltage, I think either 8V or 5V).

Time to bust out the multimeter

I've seen some funny things on the TL where it's actually wired backward and making contact breaks the ground (if I'm explaining that correctly). The door switch module works this way for us.

Also, the LED obviously has a built in/added resistor?

From my design trials with the RL DRL, I found the voltage is 4V AC. If one side is working, you could always short the two bulbs together on the working side. Normally, you might be concerned about overloading the wire, but LEDs don't draw enough current for that to matter here.
