Anyone bitch about the windshield wiper replacements?

LIKE Actually take the arm, and insert the rubber blade..manually. PITA for a 50K car!

If you're talking about replacing the rubber on the arms, then yes. the guy charged me double his hourly time coz it pissed him off so much it was a pain in the ass.

But it's also called quality. I get flawlessly wiped windshields, and you'll never have a piece of rubber tip hanging out of the arms once aged like my Audi did.

My dealership is kind enough to do the install for me right in the service drive in provided I buy the inserts thru them. It's worth asking for it the next time you guys are purchasing. And the inserts are priced comparably to the PIAA inserts...

They are available aftermarket, but they are cheap enough to get from the dealer...

I think pulling to the right has to do something in steering column and the steering wheel itself... maybe i am off completely, but there is no other explanation IMO...

Now, what I do not like about my RL? Not sure, I kind of consider rear shade going down acceptable to some extent, just tint your windows and you wont use shade at all ... I understand the car is heavy and takes a bit to accelerate, but after driving my wifes '13 TL last two three weeks, I certainly miss acceleration :/

something that kinda makes me sad is the ambiance lighting ... see I had a 1994 Acura Legend and one thing that I just loved in it was driving a night cause the car was super dark inside, you could adjust the ambiance lighting .... and i loved it.. i know we have some ambiance lighting but the blue lights dont cut for me i think im going to add some lights

Yeah, but the PIAA inserts are so good and so incredibly durable, I don't think I'll ever go back to anything else.

Can't us bluetooth for audio streaming has been a pretty big PITA for me
Windshield wiper misses a big chunk of the drivers side
Cover for the third brake light won't stay on anymore
Random rattle that I cannot find somewhere in the rear (not e-brake cable)

Other than that I love my RL

One more to add: The inside front door handle is to close to the hinge (very little leverage when opening the door). It's a heavy door so it's difficult to open slowly on uneven ground - especially if you are parking near another vehicle and want to open the door slowly.

2. rear sunshade goes down in reverse
3. more like a 4 door coupe with the non-existent legroom in rear
4. so tedious to pair phone for Bluetooth

1. Part of the territory?
2. Annoying, but pretty much every car I've driven with a rear sun shade does it. Whats actually annoying is it doesn't go back when you put it back in drive.
3. I use that as an excuse all the time. Don't like the legroom? Who told you to get in my car anyways I realize not everyone can do that though
4. It is only once....

Doesn't pair with my android phone, or at least it won't stay paired. Have to re-pair it every time I get in the car so now I just don't use my bluetooth.

In all fairness I think it's an issue with my phone, as my old iphone worked without issue.

Yea I remembered that. No one reads the threads of interest. I learned so many other things while looking for something, that the next time something else popped up, I knew the answer before hand.

I buy the PIAA inserts from Amazon and dealer installs them for free when I get a service. Last about 2x as long as OEM for me.

With weather is getting colder, my mpg is dropping to 15-16 mpg now. Granted most of the driving is in town and short trips (3-5mi)... but still a little disappointing with the numbers, it's near full size V8 SUV territory.

One important thing to keep in mind is that winter fuel is very different from summer fuel to prevent freezing, and by defacto will get you lower MPGs due to the fuel blend...

Freezing point of gasoline is -40C or less. I have always read the difference is for emissions as the byproduct changes with temperature. Google does say that

Given the short distance though, I think you are right.
Fuel economy tests show that, in short-trip city driving, a conventional gasoline car's gas mileage is about 12% lower at 20°F than it would be at 77°F. It can drop as much as 22% for very short trips (3 to 4 miles).
https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/coldweather.shtml

Other things to consider are:
- Lower tire pressure due to cold weather (should re-inflate after the first cold front and after the last freeze and monitor monthly). 36-40 PSI will yield better MPG than factory recommendations.
- Engine air filter obstruction even from dirt
- Increased winds. A headwind will hurt MPG more than a tailwind will help it.

In addition to everything you mentioned above (all great points ) , I remember asking someone who worked for Marathon and his explanation was they added more "filler" to it which is why the MPG dropped. As a result, the R+M octane rating stayed the same but the energy per volumetric unit value of gasoline actually drops over the winter.

Least favorite thing...

1. PITA bulb replacement.
2. Ventilated seats seems like a fantastic idea, but:
a. Stains/discoloration the leather around body is obvious;
b. The leather is *effing*perforated*, which just makes it easier for people to tear.
3. Wipers - design and only being able to get the rubber inserts online, rather than any local shop.
4. Wiper motor - it's easier to replace the entire assembly than the motor itself.
5. Drain tubes for the roof are susceptible to clogging and it leaks back in to the side curtains and drips into the passenger compartment. (FML) Found 20" pipe cleaners, but still.
6. Having to use 91 octane but sh*t mileage in town, approximately 20mpg (Highway is pretty good though).
7. Plastic fasteners/clips for the engine covers
