Anybody tried leasing a used RL - or other Acura? I'm looking to get a cheaper lease than the new ones, while waiting for the new model RL or TL to come out and get seasoned.

Dealers in northern NJ say they don't lease the certified used Acuras. However, I called AHFC and they said they would provide leasing for such.

Wouldn't the used car lease for much less than the new?

Contrary to popular belief, leases can be made on any vehicle--new or used. Money is money and the dealership and the lease agency don't care where the money comes from as long as they get it in a timely fashion. Also, the interest you are paying on a lease is usually two to three times the rate for new car loans, which the dealership also gets a cut on. Dealers love leases as they make more money, and in most states, you have no idea what the interest rate is.

Have you tried assuming a lease? Might be cheaper, as the original owner has taken care of all of the up-front costs.

You may get abetter residual on the used one as the 1st 2 yrs of depreciation are the worst.

I've you're planning to lease a used RL, I suggest you avoid a 2005. by 2006 they ironed out the 1st year problems.
