Lease an 08?

any of you know if there are any incentives to lease an 08, or are they only selling them? mylocal dealer has one, they want about $41k for it - but I never looked into leasing. when my parents where shopping, they went to a different dealer and were quoted lease numbers that were just ridiculous...both for an08 and 09.

i think they were just throwing out totally high numbers hoping someone who didn't know what was a good deal would bite...

anwway - if i want a used car smokin deal i'll look for an06 or 07 -0 but if i want new, i don't think i can afford to buy an 08 or 09. unless they are blowing out 08s and leasing them.

as to the older ones 06-07-08 = any real differences among these cars or are they truly all the same?

There was a promotion at my dealer I just leased an 08 Tech couple weeks ago. 0 down and $630 a month. I just paid for tax and license at the spot. But luckily, after the week I got it, they change the residual value and they raise the lease monthly payment to $708. And the lease program were gone. My friend who is the manager said for that price, he could of got me a better deal on the 09 and the lease were cheaper. But luckily I got my 08 before they changed the residual value.

looks like either lease an 09, or BUY an 08.

or buy a used 06 or 07 and save a PILE. my parents just bought an 07, 10k miles, still smells new for $34999. i don't think you could tell it apart from an 08 that was brand new aside from the fact that the odometer says 10000. and they got aspec wheels too!

if i get an RL, i'll go that route. buy an 06/07 - then the money I save I can put toward aspec suspension, new wheels, maybe intake/exhaust, tint it - make it look slick!!!

problem is if you look at the used market, it is like 90% 2005 models. very very few 06 or 07 models. they are there, but hard to find.

You're going to start seeing a bunch of off-lease 06's any time soon, since the promos to sell the '06's kicked in at the end of the summer of '06. Assuming there's mostly 36-39 month leases out there, expect to see a lot more '06's available in the Fall.

if hte promos for 06 models was in the fall of 06, and they were 36 month leases, they wouldn't be turned in until 09...

or did you mean the lease promos kicked in in fall of 2005 for MY 2006 cars?? i would assume they started selling them in 05.... when did hte promos hit?

i was driving home tonight and saw a celestial silver Aspec RL... it looked NICE.

got me thinking even harder about wanting that setup... i've seen a few cars with either the body kit and/or the wheels... the suspension itself would be a cheap easy add on. throw on the 5zigen exhaust, AEM intake - woo hoo.

a properly setup RL.... looked aggressive, yet conservative... not M5 fast in your face, and NOT boy racer TL-Sish.... kind of in between.. upscale luxury with ajust a hint of sportiness.

i have YET to drive an RL with the aspec suspension.

Acura has a new lease program on the 2009 RL. I have seen rates as low as 499 a month. Also check out mbusa.com for a lease on a e-350 saloon.
Good Luck,

What you're seeing is a bunch of off-lease 2005's re-entering the market (mine included) as they approach the end of their 3-year term, which is the typical term. For 2006, i'm guessing the bulk of sales probably happened July-Sept '06, as most dealers do their year end clearance plus incentives. That would mean more 2006's hitting the used market in July-Sept '09 if not sooner.

new lease program for the 2009? I haven't seen anything "new". the same ad on the Acura website says $3600 down and $549/month for 10k/year. plus tax...

I believe the cap cost reduction is roughly 2500, the other grand is for fees.
bottom line, you need to give them about $3500 up front and then you pay about $600/month (once you factor in 7.5-8% tax depending on your area)

the acura website does NOT tell you the actual cap cost - so i have no idea what the actual "selling price" is for that ad.

maybe it's inflated, and dealers are actually chopping the price down closer to invoice...but you get a good MF/residual?

anyone care to share recent leases?
