keyfob buttons

Does anyone know if the dealer sells the metallic looking buttons for the keyfob? One of my keyfobs has them all scratched up and would be nice to get new buttons.

From what I can tell in the parts diagram, it looks like the fob comes as a whole. Doesn't look like the dealer can source the buttons individually. I'd say your best bet would be to scour craigslist/ebay/etc for a parted out car or a used fob with good buttons for a decent price and go from there.

As noted above, search for one in nice shape on ebay, craigslist etc.
Found one about a year ago like new.
Good luck.

Thats what I did and did a frankenstein and it all looks brand new and no reprogramming needed as internals remain the same

After a quick search on ebay, all the used keyfobs are asking crazy money like $200+. Maybe I'll look again later. It's not really a priority as the "driver 2" keyfob I use now is pristine.

I saw a few on there for like 20-30. Maybe for different application but arent all buttons universal for the same time period of vehicle? TL vs RL?

Don't know. I was only looking for RL keyfobs. They are probably more expensive because it's a smartkey.

If all you want are silver buttons why wont something like this work? Maybe I misunderstood what your looking for.

Hmm, looking carefully, it seems the silver buttons for the MDX fobs are the same as the RL's fobs. I think this would work. I'm guessing the RL's fobs are so expensive because they're proximity keys.

Schen - Ill check my buttons at home as I have both a TL fob and RL fob and that might be another option if MDX doesnt work out for you. I believe all 3 are the same dimensions. Ill also check condition of my old RL buttons but IIRC theyre pretty toasted.

Side by side of RL and TL fobs buttons look the same. My old RL fobs buttons are toast as I expected no reason to even post

I just bought a new keyfob box from Aliexpress, cost $8, came in today.
took it apart, I had to shave some of the buttons because they didn't fit exactly, 10 min work, now I have new buttons.
