Picked up an 05 RL a few weeks ago and love it, but both keys are really beat up. Does anyone know where I can just pick up the housing for it. OEM or aftermarket I don't care, eBay has the full key with all the internals. Looking to use my internals and just swap the housing.

Never saw the entire housing but there's a guy on eBay that occasionally puts just the buttons up for bid. Save a search under RL Remote, 2005-10 and you'll be notified when they're available. The downside is I believe he wants $35 or so for them.

Hes been trying to sell those buttons for at LEAST a year.

I bought two backup FOBs for my car and the housings/buttons were in better shape than my originals, so I swapped out the housings. The buttons seem to scratch/wear no matter what you do. All of my "new" ones are now scratched, so both sets are the same now... Bummer.

 

If it is going to happen again then I'll just save my money and take them apart and paint them each a different color.

 

Anyone know what a dealer will charge to program a FOB if I buy one on Ebay?

 

I recently had my FOB, purchased on eBay, programmed and cut by Cerritos Acura for $100. I think this is probably a reasonable price.
