KB1 Replacement Seat covers

Hi, I have a silver 2005 KB1 imported from Japan. The leather on the bottom seat covers is quite brittle so much that my thumb went through one when I was leaning over getting something.
Have seen then 3 main replacement seat cover makers on EBay (Richmond, US Auto Seat Cover and US Auto Nation and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations, reviews or comparisons. Also enquired to The Seat Shop but they don't do the RL.

The seats in mine are Black leather and I was going to order a pair of the bottom covers. The seats are pretty mint apart from the tears but was wondering about fitment/color match etc of the different makes.

Going to invest in a Hog Ring crimp set.

Cheers
Andy

Everything is elementary simple, unscrew the seat, set the middle position, disconnect the connector with the ignition off and take out the entire seat, remove the plastic covers with the switches, disconnect and take out the cushin assembly. Disassemble the cushin separating the cover and change it with crimp set.
I think the quality of execution may differ from the same manufacturer, so read the review before buying the cover

Thanks, found a couple of YouTube videos that were helpful. Wondering if anyone can give any opinions on quality/color match of the 3 makers. Richmond seems to have more perforated holes, the US Auto Seat Cover and US Auto Nation ones look near identical in the pictures.

Cheers

I have no idea and therefore can only recommend doing both seats with the same covers so it looks matchingly odd. If it's a bit off, you can always 'paint' the rest with a ColourLock kit (sounds like they need a treatment desperately) so the blend is a bit better.

Just wanted to say what a beautiful example. I don't know how the Japanese do it. I know they don't salt the roads, but to they clean them daily with a Q-Tip or something.

And Yo! Mugen..!

Yeah, was going to order a pair, think I will take a punt with the Richmond ones.

Thanks! The Mugen wheels really look good with the silver, it has a set of Tein Comfort Coilovers and a kph to mph convertor but apart from that it is standard.
Comes with Front side fender kerb cameras that are active when driving froward at under 10mph in split screen mode. It has only done 67000km.

I swapped in a UK spec Head Unit but kept the JDM DVD Drive and GPS, just so the buttons are in English and is has the correct FM frequencies for the UK. My brother imported a 2006 one as well which had some extras but Fabric seats instead of leather, an option in Japan apparantly, suffered from the passanger side interior door grab handle snapping off, seems quite a poor design!

Cheers
Andy

I thought I recognised your username from somehere - Pistonheads or Preludes or whatever.

Yes, people will grab the interior handle from the top - the doors are heavy and lots of leverage. Pull from the chrome ring and they last forever.

I did wonder about the HMI unit swap - in case I need a newer Regendo at some point. Handy to know it's plug n' play.

I'd probably do the sat nav too, since I only really use the CD function.

Those black bits - is that wrap, or stripped & polished plastic? I jet washed the chrome off my rear bumper since it was so scruffy from ear-parking.

haha, yes on a "few" Honda forums, CRX, Prelude, AccordR, Legend, and probably Pistonheads as well!
The chrome parts are vinyled black, assuming the chrome did it's usual of peeling off.

I still miss my BB8, even if it would be as underused as the other cars...I regret selling it. Supermarine Blues on Ludegeneration, appropriately.

Yeah, I chrome-wrapped mine, but the invariably south-facing rear bumper c-wrap got degraded so I went full retard with the jetwash and then applied some 303.

Grille's held up pretty well.

Did you ever change the seat covers? If so, were you happy with the replacement cover you went with? Any update would be appreciated...I have to do the same...unfortunately.

There are seat covers by another company for $170 each but I watched a review of them on YouTube compared to the Richmond ones and they were a bit crap.
