Just Got My RL

Just bought a Lakeshore Silver with Tech Package. (details in sign in sticky)

Considered M35x but just not as smooth on the throttle...don't know if its the drive by wire on the RL or the VTec or tranny or what but had a hard time smoothly working the throttle on the M35x.

Also the active cruise control is much smoother on the RL than M35x and that was a key factor as I cruise up and down 280 in the bay area for 75 miles a day.

I'll miss the vented seats on the M35X though.

I won't miss the dealer experience at my nearest Infiniti dealer. They only will take you out in the demo car which is a M35 sport. I was interested in a non sport M35x which they had two of on the lot but would not let me test drive.

First time in my life I have been in a position to buy a luxury sedan and I was quite surprised at how bad the buying experience was at some dealerships.

My local Acura dealer, Sunnyvale Acura, was very helpful and friendly and patient (5 test drives I think).

Considered BMW 5 series but the RL is just such a great value and seen too many horrow stories hanging out at the bimmerfest bmw forums about reliability and lousy service.

This forum was very helpful. Thanks.

You will love the car as we all do. Hope you never need the 8 year.

Congrats! I bought my RL in mid-May. Still love this car solid, no squeaks or rattles.

I ended up buying the Expel headlight film to protect the headlights for $50. Cheap insurance in the event a stone ever cracks a headllight or foglight.

I had that happen in my old '98 Land Cruiser and my '04 Land Cruiser. At $350 for the headlight housing, the $50 is money well spent.

As for the extended warranty, I was torn between the 8yr/120K or the 7yr/100K. I ended up going with the 7yr/100K for $1,100. I actually paid less than that due to a dealer error, but I won't go into that here.

Good Luck and enjoy. It's an awsome car.
