Just bought a 2005 rl. I have a couple questions..
Hey guys,
Just bought a 2005 acura rl with 30k miles for 27.5k without taxes. It is in amazing condition. Not one curbed rim. Comes with the wooden steering wheel and shift knob... Anyways how is that price?
Also this is kinda a dumb question... The xm and traffic.. That is a paid service im guessing right? Is onstar free?
What does the acuralink do?
thanks

Welcome to the RL side!
XM radio and XM traffic are both paid services. You might try the $77 a year deal for the radio--click and it's $47.88 a year ($3.99/mo) for NavTraffic.
OnStar is NOT free. it's $199 a year for the basic service.
As to $27.5 without TTL, some have gotten better on 2005s, but with higher miles. It sounds like you got a reasonable, but not stellar deal. If it's in the pristine shape you describe, it's probably worth it. In any case, enjoy the ride, it is a superb one!

IMO, price is good for the mileage but would also depend on how many months of warranty remains (determined from the in-service date), and/or if it has extended warranty. why it wasn't driven much, could be good or bad, or if the color combo was what you wanted, has both keys, and options you might have wanted like spoiler, mudguards, trunk tray, mats, window tint, orig tires.
I guess my point is only you know if the price was right!
enjoy.

Here's what you get with the Safe and Sound plan:

A lot of the services are superfluous as Acura offers equivalents, and we have a navi.
You can't use the Vehicle Diagnostics because that's only for GM vehicles, and besides, we have AcuraLink for that. The main benefit for an Acura to have OnStar is the theft recovery service....and if the thief takes the car someplace where a cell signal, even one as strong as OnStar's, is not available, that's limited. You have to decide whether that's worth $199 a year. Personally, I have it, largely for the wife's peace of mind and concern for me. Not everyone here has it......and that's likely why Acura dropped it in RLs after 2006.
