JDM headlights
I have a cracked headlight so I am looking at these for a replacement. They say used but the lense looks really clear and from what I read, it's a direct replacement. My question is why do these appear to be so much cheaper? $900 for a set compared to $800 for just one usa model...(from eBay search). Am I missing anything or should I pretty much be good to unplug the old ones and plug these in? Thanks
RL parts are really expensive to begin with. Because of the car the RL is, they mark up the price of parts. Maybe not as much in the US but here in Canada, I went to Acura for an wiper blade replacement and the same part number from Honda was $5 less. The same part, part number and both even say Honda. Mind you the first honda dealer wouldn't sell it to me so I went to another haha. Anyways, To me $900 is still expensive for a pair. Its just a parts guy looking at the pricing and demand then posting them. If you were there they can be had for much cheaper.

I'd go with the JDM set given your options, OR you can try finding one from here www.car-part.com.
I had to replace the transmission in my CL which should be shocking but it isn't given the auto transmission reputation, but mine was the manual (usually rock solid) version. Took me 9 months and $3600 to get one used out of Ontario... buying one new would have been $6000+.
So I hear ya on the ridiculous Canadian mark up.

Just an FYI...I ended up trying to buy those JDM lights in the link above...they were listed for $899...I made an offer of $675...and they took it! No negiciatons, just took it...hope I didn't get suckered! So...if any of you are looking at their stuff, you should make an offer, they may just take it...I was really surprised!

It is very likely that you are getting an empty "shell" and will need to move your current parts over to the new assemblies. Post pics when you are done.

That shows you the markup. Thats a fair price for authentic jdm headlamps. I actually bought side mirrors from him right earlier in the week..oing to finally tackle the folding mirrors. Got them for cheaper than the parts were so I jumped on it. Going to try to get the oem switch to work. I'll post in the thread when I get around to it.
