Hello everyone,
My wife and I are the proud new owners of a 2008 Lakeshore Metallic RL. So far we are very impressed. We got it with just 18,3XX miles and are looking forward to putting some more mileage on it. It is a non-tech model but it seems to have a DVD ROM drive in the trunk for some purpose. Can't wait to learn more about this amazing vehicle- when I saw it up on the lift for my inspection I was very impressed with the technology, aluminum everywhere with quality welds (robotic tig?), carbon fiber driveshaft, and some sort of valences off of the rear control arms I am assuming to cut noise? We live in ohio so some all season mats and trunk cover are on the short list of must haves.

Gratz. That is not a DVD-Rom in the trunk, but only a CD-Rom drive for the compass. You can easily convert your drive to a DVD-Rom and get Navigation in your RL by buying the unit from a parts, salvage or junk yard.

You and your wife will enjoy your new purchase. I have a 2007 with 144,000 miles (yes I drive alot/business) and can sincerely say I enjoy driving mine as much today as mile #1. Sometimes I get the itch and look at new used cars and revert back to my RL. For the money the RL, IMO, is a fantastic automoble. If you do alot of highway driving, I would look at investing in a clear bra for the front. There are threads about these products. I bought the 3m product, the Invisable Shield, and I am very satisfied. In four years not a nick and has held up very well. Regarding the all weather mats below is a link if you have the light gray interior like mine.
