Intermittent Wiper Discovery
Intermittent Wiper Discovery
I'm driving to work this morning in a light rain with my wipers set on slow intermittent. Sitting at a stoplight, I watch the arms sweep across the windshield. The light turns green and the wipers sweep once more. I think to myself "the timing of that last sweep seems odd". I spend the next mile driving wondering if those clever Japanese engineers decided to give us a courtesy wipe whenever the car starts driving again. Time for the experiment...
At the next stoplight, I stop a bit early. I check the timing of the wipers, then, I let my foot off the brake. Wouldn't you know it? The wipers, when on intermittent, give a "courtesy wipe" when releasing my foot off the brake to make sure I have a clear field of vision when accelerating from a stop!
TL;DR: You get an extra sweep of the wipers when they're set on intermittent whenever the brake pedal is released.
Thanks Acura! That was mighty clever of you!
