Info regarding cracking sound going over bumps.
For about 5 months had a cracking sound going over bumps followed by a clicking sound as I drive off. Sounds appears to be coming out of my rear wheels. When applying brakes I can feel and hear a grabbing sound out of my wheels.
Took it over to local auto shop where they could find nothing wrong.
Next, headed over to Acura dealer who determined that my brakes needed a service job.
This did not fix the sounds, returned to the dealer and they finally determined that my headlight adjustment sensor assembly has seized up and the linkages were creating the sounds I am getting.
Dealer replaced the sensor assembly and all the sounds went away. Applying the brakes is like cheese and also fixed the clicking sound out of the center console when brakes applied.
For what ever reason my flickering left hand head lights have stopped flickering.
This headlight adjustment sensor is located with 3 bolts/nuts beside the rear wheel driver side. The wheel has to removed to gain access to this sensor.
It is a 10 minutes job that I managed to witness at the dealer ship.
Had I know I would have done it myself and save over $300.00
Now my 05 RL with new Michellin Sports A/S Plus handles like the first day of delivery, it drives so sweet that I keep audio system turned off to truly enjoy the quietness and isolation.
