Info on Comptech supercharger

I think I may have an addiction for speed in my RL. Just having other cars pull along me I can never seem to back off. A bmw 745i series was my last victim, suprisingly haha. I need some more in depth info on the engine management of the comptech supercharger. Is it plug an play? anyone dealt with it before? I dont have a problem with installing it, its just I need to know how their engine management works with our RL ecu. Trying to get as much info as possible before I purchase the supercharger

You could also call Autowave.

I would love to call autowave and ask them for info but being in the automotive business. They wouldnt like to release all the info haha. Also it seems like The owner let autowave do all the work so I would only get my questions answered through autowave

buy the super charger and fab whatever misc things you need. From what was posted it was very minimal like moving battery and extending tubing or something like that.

Get yoursell an Aem fuel timing controller or the the like and take to the tuner of your choice.

If I had a 2nd gen RL I would have done this myself.

AEM FIC-6 with a wideband O2 Sensor should work fine, it's finding he person to properlly tune it thats hard.

I called autowave and they were very open about what was done to the car. They did NO tuning. This can be done as long as boost is kept low. The ecu will make adjustments for fuel on its own. This will not give you as good of performance as a custom tune but you should notice a good increase in power. You will need a boost gauge and a wideband to make sure your afr stays in line to much boost and you may max out your injectors. This is really ( with the exception to one) uncharted territory and has its risk. Also he had no exhaust mods which alone is holding back a considerable amout of power with really no risk involved. Exhaust should be a must have with this project. As far as a safc they pretty much stink imo but a standalone or piggyback unit that is plug qnd play doesnt exist for this car so if you go that route you will need manufacturer input. Again injectors may be something to look into as well.

a bigger free flowing exhaust might be the one thing that leans it out enough though.

me personally would do the piggyback right off the back. Standalone would cause more problems as the stock ecu does more than just fuel and timing corrections. It's more integrated to the car and does things most standalones won't be able to duplicate.
