I'm (almost) ready to take the plunge but I have a few questions for current owners

Well, I finally drove the RL today and have to say that it cinched the deal for me. It was down to the GS or the RL and the RL wins. But I need some guidance from the experts:

First, when are the 06's due out? My salesman, who generally seemed to be uninformed and rather inexperienced -- the only bad part of my experience today, didn't seem to have a firm answer to that question.

Second: I've seen references on this board to the A-spec package for the RL but my salesman looked at me like I was speaking Swahili when I asked him what was included with the A-spec and what it cost. Am I missing something, or is he?

Third, I want the 18" wheels. What kind of tires should I get with them?

Last, does anyone have pictures of an RL in Carbon Grey? I have a 2003 TL in Anthrocite Grey right now and actually like the look a lot with the black interior. But I can't seem to be able to find an RL in the darker grey...

There are a few Carbon Grey pictures in the PHOTO GALLERY section on the Acura website ... You can get them in wallpaper size: CLICK HERE

Also, there are a few pictures in the image database at Acura Newz ... You can go one click more, but you need a password to get the largest format. CLICK HERE

As for the A-Spec, the boy was clueless ... Itz a reality. This announcement datez back to Nov 2004 ... Click the small photo to see more images. CLICK HERE

Well, my guess would be october. There is no definite date yet.

He was missing something. The a-spec package comes with the 18" wheels, tires, suspension, and the body kit.

I believe some people here reccomend the nero ms tires. Personally I reccomend (and others as well) say the michellin pilot sport a/s. I have them on the stock 17's and they were a great upgrade.

Can't help you with the color choice.

If you want the 18" wheels without the A-spec package, I suggest that either you don't buy them from your dealer, or you negotiate a good price for them.

You can get the wheels on Ebay for around $1400, the dealer will likely ask for around $2000...unless you negotiate. The dealer's tire prices are also most likely going to be higher than your local tire shop.

Tires that most RL owners seem to go for are the Pirelli Zero Neros 245/45/R18 (I bought these and am very happy with them) or the Michelin Pilots. I have heard good things about both.

I have an acquaintance who is a purchaser for North America Honda - '06 RL is due out early October.

As others have said the OEM 18's can be purchased at Acura dealership for ~$1600 or so (I have a quote for $1575 w/ free shipping); or less on eBay. IF you negotiate with the dealer, either get an additional trade-in credit for the 17's or keep them. Do NOT allow the dealer to give you 18s for $1600 and keep the 17s.
