I -love- the engine sounds at high RPM

I just came back from the Netherlands after a 2wk+ vacation. Man it was nice to climb in the RL again. The weather was nice here (NorCal) so I drove with the window open. I stomped it hard (safe location) and the engine revved easily. It then hit the VTEC point and the characteristic "PRAAAT" sound came from the exhaust. Wow. The extra power boost that happens at those RPMS (4.5K or so?) is amazing too. Almost like a turbo charger with horrible lag.

Anyway, I find it amazing how this car can be driven so sedatedly and can then open up just a few moments later. Sweet.

I thought it was only my car that got that surge at 4500 Thought there might be something wrong -- like where is that power at 2000? Is there ANY type of mod that might open that up early under higher throttle conditions?

Hmm, not sure if they're talking about the same thing. To me the engine doesn't feel harsh at all when this happens. It seems very intentional and more like an animal let out of its cage rather than something mechanical that's struggling.
