Living in the mountains I was just driving around town and got onto one of the small, up n down, with some turns secondary road with a 35MPH speed limit.

Into D3 the car went.

Then I just realized how much time I spend dropped into D3 and how nice it is to have that option.

Until today D3 was just something I used when needed.

Now it occurs to me how much better life in the car is with a D3 option. Today was the day I said "wow, you know something, I'm incredibly happy this car has D3"

Sure I could be paddle shifting. But D3 is damn nice for when it's needed.

Am I the only one?

i have never even used it... what does it do? is it a more aggressive auto shift profile??

I know ! I love it good for when your in heavy trafic or you just need some more rpm's lol

I only allows use of the first 3 gears for driving in mountainous terrain, like phish said, or in stop & go traffic like rtr mentioned. This keeps the car from making unnecessary upshifts when you either need more power on inclines or are about to have to slow down b/c of traffic.

Phish, I use the paddles if I need to stay low, but I can definitely see how it could come in handy for extended amounts of time.

I use D3 around town, as it shifts better for traffic conditions. More torque. I use the paddle shifter for getting on the freeway and pulling hills.
