How safe is the RL from Gas Theft?
I've been seeing all these articles about gasoline theft and got to wondering how resistant the RL might be to gas theft. The fuel flap would be pretty easy to pry open, and unless you have a locking cap under that, it would be an easy siphon job.
The other method is apparently people are punching a hole in the tank from underneath, and draining the tank. I suppose there isn't too much you can do about that. I would imagine that the RL with its smooth underbody might present a bit of a challenge to a would-be fuel thief.
My last fillup here in San Diego was over $60 (about 14 gallons), and I'm driving with the manu-matic seeking higher gears during my surface-street commute. It nets me about a .7 mpg improvement on my commute versus driving without a thought to saving fuel.

I live in a dodgey neighborhood and gas theft hasn't hit here yet. Too much of a pain in the ass to drill then collect.
Most thieves are breaking into cars and stealing easy stuff that they can sell in turn to buy gas.

I can already imagine people putting signs in their window "Tank Not Full" like they did in the old days with "Radio Already Stolen".
Maybe a trunk dwarf can be employed to protect your tank.
