How to restore headlights?

I bought my RL used about a year ago and have been struggling with this. The previous owner must have used an abreasive compound and scratched the headlights. They have lots of fine scratches.

Does anyone know how to clear these up? Maybe sand and spray a clear coat?

Browse around HERE for a while. There are a bunch of decent headlight restoration kits available.

i just did that to my cpo rl, my headlights were not foggy but had an abrased chemical look or something. I used turtle wax lens restoration kit. It worked great! I didnt even have to use the included buffer pads. Avail at local auto stores, grab a chair cuz you will be doing some scrubbing.
