HFL...Bluetooth echo...

Greetings all.
My wife has a Blackberry Nextel phone with Bluetooth capability. No problem linking the phone to the car. However, when she does use it, she and the receiving party hear an echo. She has tried to adjust the volume and no luck. You can still hear an echo when you speak. If the receiving person speaks, no echo. It's only when she talks that it is heard.
Any clues?

This is the result of having the speaker and the mic in the same enclosed space. The Motorola BT headsets have the same echo problem, though not as distinctly.

Where would you recomend the phone be placed? Inside the center console?

The problem is not the phone. The problem is the positioning of the mic and speakers for the car. The mic is picking up the sound when the speakers are playing back the other person's voice.

Great....sounds like we are screwed. Oh well, I guess that's one feature she can't use.
Thanks for the feedback.
