Help with Auto headlight issue

I thought it would be neat to use to Auto headlight setting but it seems to require some pretty dark conditions to activate. I tried switching from the default "MID" setting all the way to "MAX" and it still does not operate the lights unless it is quite dark (I would like to have them come on if it is overcast and raining). Has anyone else tried/experienced this). The other question I have is if there is a way to turn off the "lights on" chime in Auto mode. The chime serves a purpose if you forget to turn off your lights on a car that does not automatically turn off but is quite annoying when YOU KNOW your lights are on because they are "Auto Light Sensitive" ON and "Headlight Auto Off Timer" OFF.

Iwould appreciate any suggetions. If there is no fix to these issues then the "Auto Light Sensitive" feature is worthless IMHO and I will just revert to manual control.

I addressed this matter w/Acura Cust Serv. They're aware of this; unfortunately, it's the way the car is. No fix for this.

I have the opposite opinion with the auto lights...I have mine set to min and I think they come on way too early. With when they come on is what I'd expect if I had them selected in the max light setting but for the min setting I want them to be activated only when there is much less ambient light.

No way to turn off the silly auto light chime which IMO is useless and seems to have been a missed area when they were testing the car and all that jazz.

Hehe, well I guess I'm the baby bear on this one cause for me they seem to work "just right". They turn on driving thru Hubbard's Cave and then back off again, turn on when I enter my corp. parking garage, etc. I do think the warning chime when exiting the car when they are in auto-off mode is dumb, though.

software

My light sensitivity is just about right but for those out there where it is not, there has to be an adjustment. If the dealer says that there is not one then ask him to exchange the sensor. After Acura has paid for a few replacements they will release the sensitivity adjustment information to the service departments.
I concurr with the silly headlight on chime when the Auto is selected. If you enter the car at night and you cannot tell if the lights are on then maybe you shouldn't be driving.
The chime could be eliminated by software so we will have to hope that Acura is listening and incorporates the feature in the next version of code. This is the only car that I have owned where I have not extracted the chime from the PC board.
California will implement a law in June where it is illegal to drive in "reduced visability" without your headlights on. My Cadillac turned the headlights on if the wipers were activated for more than 20 seconds therefore assuming reduced visability in the rain. Again this is just software.
While I'm on the subject of software, who is the clown who determined that you cannot view the 4 wheel torque display when you enable the cruise control?
