Good Price?

Hello all. I'm new to this forum as I do not own a RL yet, though I'm in the market. I was at a dealership today looking at a 2005 RL with 61k and currently in the shop as it is being certified. They have it priced at $19,995 and I'm wondering what your thoughts are on this price and how much lower you think I can offer. NADA and Edmunds both show this to be a very good price below their listings. Thanks for the help and I look forward to purchasing the car and posting here often. I currently have a Mazda 6 that has been paid off for awhile now and I'm ready to move up to the RL. Thanks for the help.

I think you are very close to the lowest possible price for an Acura Certified car in perfect condition...Yet...if you bought the same car, same mileage, not certified through private party, I would expect 15k possible.

Welcome to AZ from another Clevelander! I agree with Larry. This is a pretty good price.

The move from a Mazda 6 (a NICE car, BTW, especially in S trim) to the RL is a big one in terms of both luxury and handling.

Which dealer are you working with if it's OK to know?

Yeah I didn't know that they certified cars with 61K but I guess they do. After reading the forums a little today I've learned that I need to check to make sure the AC components have been updated and feel free to let me know anything else I should check out. I might see if I can get 1 to 1.5K off the price.

I do love my 6, though it was only a 4cyl not the S. I'm very much looking forward to the upgraded luxury. As far as the handling goes I thought my 6 handled fantastically and I'm looking forward to the RL doing the same from what I have read. What are the differences you suppose I will notice most on the handling front?

If you promise not to tell, Motorcars Acura in Bedford. I'm going there Saturday to possibly make the deal. Acura is running 4.9% for 60 months.

Our secret! That's the dealership I've bought three Acuras from and I've been very happy with the sales and service departments. They should treat you right there.

As far as the handling.....FWD vs. SH-AWD=big difference. It takes a little time to get used to, but once you get the hang of pushing on the accelerator a little earlier in curves, you will enjoy it....especially with decent rubber.

Well it's nice that the Mod is from Cleveland! I'm glad that you had great service there. I talked to Mike Baker today in used cars and he was very professional and not pushy like a used car salesman could be. Do you think I'm crazy to buy one with 61k miles? I had originally planned on getting one with about 35-40 but then I thought, "it's an Acura so what's 20 thousand miles"? I plan on driving quite a bit as I'm in sales.

Yeah I'm really looking forward to pushing it in some turns and feeling the SH-AWD do it's thing. I will probably change out the tires soon after purchase as I have Dunlop Direzza DZ101 UHP Summer's on my Mazda for the summer and Bizzaks for the winter. I think it's worth it to have different tires for each season when you live in Cleveland.
