going in for service

wats up fellow aziners, well maybe i am just a little obsessive over my car, but recently in the low rpms it feels like there is a slight vibration on my gas peddle which i feel should not be there.... after researching a little bit, my thoughts are possibly the torque converter and being i purchased the car used i am not positive whether or not it has had the transmission update.... lemme know what you guys think

So, I call up my dealer and i tell them i would like to bring in my car for service/diagnostics under the powertrain warranty and the first thing he says to me is "i have never seen a transmission fail on that car".... so i suggested the torque converter and this moron says "I have never heard of that going bad either" so in my mind i am already thinking they are going to be a pain in the ass i was wondering if anyone had past experience with the issue and how I should go about addressing the issue................thanks in advance

Do you have any idea of the previous owner's service history of the car? Be sure and note at what RPM you notice the issue and if possible ride with the tech when he test drives it. You don't want the usual "can't duplicate the problem" statement they so eagerly say. How many miles and year of RL may help others here to help you.

just broke 68,000.... from the service history that I was able to get ahold of the car looked like it only went in for regular service and it was a one owner and all services were at the same dealer.... it seems more prominent in the lower rpms and gets smoother in the higher rpms

I do not know how sensitive you are to NVH but both my TL and the RL have a slight low RPM vibration around 1500-1800 RPM, especially when cold. It was much more noticeable in the TL, whereas my RL is has a slight audible growl more than a vibration. It seems to be the tranny logic keeping the RPM low for mileage and ULEV parameters and causes a slight drag on the drive-train. I notice it in the mornings at about 40-45MPH. At least that is how I assess it.

But I feel nothing in the accelerator pedal. And being throttle by wire, it must be transmitting itself from the floor of the RL into the bottom of the pedal where it mounts to the floor? Could it be the slight drive-train vibration I speak of?

it is a very slight vibration and a small growl, but i feel that since the car is drive by wire there really should be no vibration and i can't tell whether I just never noticed it when i got the car or something is actually wrong..... if there is a problem I know it is minor but i would like to fix it if I could and I feel like the dealer is gonna give the the cant reproduce because it is not a very noticeable situation.............but I have an appointment tommorow thanks for the help ill let u guys know what happens
