glovebox
#2
I have a 2007 and had the same problem. When my wife would push in on it slightly the noise would go away. Took it to the dealer thinking they would tighten and said something was broken in the door. I would need a new glovebox at the tune of $500. I went to the area customer service rep and complained. My RL had about 60,000 miles but was only two years old. I told him for this price of auto for the glovebox to break when I might had opened it twenty time over that two years was ridiculous. They did replace it free of charge.

They had mentioned a part had broken inside and that was what was making the noise. I thought all they would have to do is tighten the locking mechanism but that would have been to easy. Where are you located? I have the name and number of my area Acura rep that helped me.

The part was most likely the owners manual tray. The hinges are very fragile and break easily when it is removed for the cabin filter installation. When the delaer first replaced my filter I looked in my owners manual to be sure the service was checked off and noted. I noticed my manual tray was not as tight as prior to the service. Showed my service rep, before I left, and they replaced the entire glove box. Couldn't just replace the tray. So, heads up to you who have the service dept replace your filters - check this before you leave.

The Acura service rep,( I think he covers the Southeast) is Robert Dabb. He was great with customer service. Followed up with a car afterward to make sure everything was done correctly. # is 800 382-2238.
