General Maintenance Question

I'm itching to buy an RL (but am still considering other options) and I've got some questions. I'm a DIY kind of person and have owned 3 Hondas since 96. I do my own oil changes, trans fluid changes, coolant changes, plugs, wires, air filter, etc... But I bring my cars into the dealer for brake jobs (liability), brake fluid change and timing belt (water pump too!).

That being said, I'm curious to see what members have paid for:

1) Timing belt + water pump changes
2) Brake jobs.

Timing belt & water pump should cost the same as a honda...The brake work will be more expensive (especially at a dealer) but it shouldn't be outragous...you should do your own brake work if you can...it is not rocket science.

You obviously haven't bought an RL yet...There has never been a car that I have ever owned that I have compared to the RL. There is a lot of value. The biggest negative is resale value, but if you buy it at a good discount you won't get clobbered. The only car in its class i would have even considered are the ES or the M

I doubt many on the forum have enough miles to have timing belt and water pump replacements yet.

Went to Nally Acura (Atlanta area) for B12 service (whew -- $404) anyway while there I noticed a 2008 RL on the showroom floor.

It had the colors I wanted originally, Silver w/taup interior. $46,???. I spoke with a sales rep, and he would be very happy to take my RL in trade, "we need more used RL's on the lot".

But I think I will keep my o6 for for another 5 yrs or so, unless some have to have machine comes along.

The 08 was gorgious, but then so is my 06..
