Ok, I just managed this morning, to reconfirm something I noticed last month:

I could fill 80+ liters of gas into the tank. That's a bit over 21 gallons!

 

LOL I'm glad I'm not alone. I've pulled off filling over the 19.7 gallons multiple times with like 50-60 miles on the MID.

Capacity is 18 gallons unless i'm mistaken. Either that's to show a higher mileage remaining, or the stations' are skimming.

 

actually the tank is 19.4 gallons.
i've had car shut off on the way to gas station before and i've managed to put 19.215 gallons of gas before.

i've also had to call AAA b/c i had gas light on and parked at incline pointing up.
AAA gave me 1 gallon of gas for me to get to gas station which was right around corner to fill 17.5 gallons.

 

that's a lot of gas and $

 

I've filled up over 20 gallons and the light wasn't on... Tank capacity is 19.4 or 19.7 gallons I think? I wonder what the filler neck capacity is?

 

You're correct. I had landed on a first generation specs didn't notice it. That's 18. 2nd gen is 19.4.

It's gulping down though almost an extra 2 gallons. That's still a high difference.

Plus gas doesn't last as long as US gas. When I fill her up in the US, I get much more mileage. Gonna clock it next time and show difference. But very noticeable.

 

i always end up putting 16 in my 2005 when the light just comes on, and that puts the needle way above F.

 

It really depends on the pump and the "fumes"... the handle could click sooner on a hot day.

On a long trip I have "topped off" the tank with over 20 gallons, to be clear I could see the fuel in the neck when I was done. LoL #noIdontsmoke #yesIhavelifeinsurance

 

 

these are track record i recorded on fuelly for a period of time i kept track of it.
i've recently started using it again to track fuel mileage of Giulia.

on RL, most fillups were far below 0 miles left from dash. always extracted most miles i could get out by doing following.
(18.5~19(near empty tank on safe level) * current tank mpg) - current tank distance driven = distance possibly i can drive.
ie: 19ga * 20mpg = 380 miles - 356 miles on current tank = 24 more miles left before fuel is empty.
