I'm pretty sure that the temperature is independent of the Auto A/C setting. You're supposed to set the temperature and then the Auto A/C just adjusts the fan speed and A/C until the desired temperature is reached.

Christopher1, I believe the problem you are having is with the memory function of the RL. The temperature settings are individually stored for each key fob through the same memory setting that stores the seat position, mirror position etc. With your car turned on, set the temperature to your desired settings and then press the "MEMO" button (on the drivers door just above the handle) for 2 seconds. You will hear two beeps and the "1" and "2" buttons will light up and flash. If your key fob is for Driver 1, you would then press the "1" button to store this as your desired temperature default settings. The holder of key fob #2 repeats the procedure for their favourite settings for the temperature, mirrors, seat etc. Now when you sit in the car, it will automatically adjust the settings to be just the way you like it. Good luck.

Just like in any other Honda/Acura auto climate control system, if you turn the temperature down to the minimum value (in your case it's 72, right? You need to turn it down to the very lowest it goes), it will go to a "maximum cooling" setting. The temperature will drop and drop and drop, even below the 72 that it's set at, or whatever that number is. Same thing goes with the top end for heating. Unless of course the RL is different. I'm just giving my experience based on other Acuras.

I think you've misunderstood the question Christopher was asking. If you use the voice command "full automatic", the climate control system will go into automatic mode and set the temperature to 72 degrees. I believe he's asking if you can program "full automatic" to be 68 degrees rather than 72. I haven't come across a way to do that -- the 72 degrees seems to be default for this mode. Personally, I simply keep it in Auto mode and adjust the temp up or down as needed. I don't really see the value of the "full automatic" mode. The only difference I see is that it sets it to 72 degrees.

Ohhhh....that's really weird. It seems like a strange feature.

I recall this default setting can be changed, but I will have to go back through the system to find it.

Update for Chrisopher1. I got the beeps backwards in my instructions to set your auto temperature default. When you push the MEMO button it beeps once and when you push the 1 or the 2 it beeps twice. You don't have to push and hold the MEMO button. Sorry for the misinformation, it had been a while since I set my memories and I forgot.

Sorry, I did misunderstand your question. I tried my car with the "A/C Full Automatic" command and it went to a temperature setting of "Lo" with maximum A/C. This may be a difference between the U.S. and Canadian models?? I've never used the Full Automatic mode either, I simply leave it in "Auto" at the temperature I like and it does a great job of keeping me comfortable in all outside weather conditions.
