Howdy all! Sold my 2007 TL for a 2006 RL Been reading the past couple of weeks about my new car, very excited! Was a one owner with only 49k miles, very clean.

Anyways...I removed the front license plate bracket, you can see one of the grill pieces is bent, but can't seem to figure out how these last 2 pieces of hardware are attached. Are they OEM pieces that are permanently attached or am I just being too delicate with them?

 

Those look identical to the ones that I had on my Acura CL. They slide right out.

If you are required to have a front plate in Washington like New York, the Show n Go flip up license plate frame fits in there.
edit: just don't buy the one with the motor

 

Slick sliding plate... those pry open and slide off.

You may want to ask around there and see if the cops really care or not. I don't have front plates on either one of our cars and have never been questioned, not even when pulled over for other offenses.

 

It usually isn't an issue, but it gives probable cause for a stop. Maybe some don't care, but I prefer to not give LEOs any extra benefits.

 

I hung mine with sheet rock anchors
