Unhappy Front door window glass out of position in sash

The 06 RL I recently purchased had the front door window broken in the past. When it was installed the dealer slid the glass between the metal and the rubber of the sash rather than between the two rubber faces in the sash. I have tried to move the window glass forward to reposition it correctly without success. I have successfully removed the door panel, loosened the bolts of the front and rear sash, and loosened the bolts holding the glass to the regulator. The problem seems to be that the plastic piece that is bonded to the window (slides in the rear sash) is not easily moved out of the sash. Anyone have experience with this? The dealer that did this is 300 miles away. I'm thinking that I need to remove the window to get it repositioned in the sash correctly? Does anyone know how to resolve this? I do not see any threads with this situation. How would I remove the window glass?

It's a little hard to understand what you are explaining. Can you take/post pictures?

You need to remove both the bolts from the sash clips that hold the window to the regulator and move the window forward enough to get it back into the run channel and then re-attach the glass to the regulator.

Thank you. I actually did just that and could not get the window to move far enough forward to get the window over into the correct position in the sash. I will try it again this weekend and let you know how it goes. Fortunately the door panel is easy to remove without breaking things. Anyone else have experience with this? Any tricks that need to be used?

It might be necessary to move the regulator up or down depending on where the glass is in order to tilt it back into position.

Yes, thank you. The glass has to be partially down to be able to get at the bolts that hold the glass onto the regulator slider.
