fog light lens

fog light lens

I have an 05 RL with a cracked driver's side fog light lens. any suggestions how to change either the whole unit or just the lens??

someone posted instructions on how they replaced just the lens, but had to "home manufacture" the lens. I recall the instructions being illustrated and detailed.

Otherwise, I think you have to replace the entire unit.

Look in the 2G RL Garage section first. csmeance has tried to catalog a lot of the helpful threads into a useful order.

I replaced my passenger side one with an OEM replacement (prior to discovering this Forum). Paid somewhere around $125 for replacement assembly. I didn't remove the bumper and it was a REAL PAIN but got it done. I would now recommend following the link (above).

the entire foglight is like $40 for the 2.5G RLs...see if those fit...cheap upgrade.

When I brought my car in for the recall. The inspection sheet said it cost $393.00 to replace both the fog light assembly.

its 210 for just the one side where i live. and i have to replace my passenger side but wont be doing so until spring comes and since im going to take off the bumper i might do hids as well.

thanks for the link white05, and FML my driver side just cracked as well so now i have 2 cracked fogs and im not sure how it happen!!! is it possible for the lenses to crack when its cold out side -10c and then me going threw a car wash that i think use hot or somewhat warm water? i ask this because its just cracked with a line threw the center of the lens and i havent been driving behind salts trucks. but then again it could be from the stones on the ground. wtf
