Fix for Sunshade Rattle?

Has anyone found a fix for the sunshade rattle? Is it in the sunshade itself, or is it in the deck surrounding the shade opening? Any help here would be appreciated!

Thanks.

I had a mild rattle. In my case they packed the surrounding deck with foam and that seemed to take care of it.

Dealer was able to fix mine. They said there is a TSB on this.

They fixed mine too -- replaced the sunshade assembly.

I had the same rattling problem. I took it twice to the dealer.

1. they opened the headliner and said something was wrong w/ the sunroof beam unit.

2. there is a TSB about needing to add some wool felt to the bottom of the rear deck to mitigate the rubbing noise.

but ultimately, when i got home from visit 2, there was still noise.

I parked my car in the garage and started tapping the rear deck. I noticed which part of the deck was making the noise when i tapped w/ my hand.

ultimately, it was the driver's side of the rear, where the shade comes out of....so i took some Packing Peanuts (foam kind) and started dropping them in myself....to buffer the gap where it was always "rubbing" and creating the noise.

After about 5-6 pieces of peanuts in there, i could no longer tap the sound. consequently, when i drive now, the noise is gone!!!

can you post a picture of where you put the packing peanuts in? I find it interesting to know that one of the ways to fix a rattle is to "drop" packing peanuts in...

When I had my A1 Service a couple weeks ago, they applied the magic felt. I reported a very light buzz. It did cure it.

The felt was applied to the sunshade channel, where the top of the shade struts rest against the channel (when retracted).
